Description
Anok Figure (Bird Mask and Stand) (African, Baga peoples, Guinea) Wood and Polychrome. This zoomorphic mask features a long and pointed bird beak, incised carvings, and a carved human face. There are also triangular shaped holes at the base of the head. There is a stand that this mask sits upon for display. The Baga use the Anok mask during harvest time and or funerals.
