Description

Modeled in the shape of a richly decorated elephant, his head, trunk and tusk raised to the sky, carrying on his back and forming the cover, a pagoda topped by a dragon, decorated in relief with mythical creatures and motifs, underneath the belly an impressed rectangular seal mark. Period: 18th / 19th Century. Height: 40 cm.

Provenance: Acquired in the 1930-the 1940s by the present owner’s grandfather, thence by descent.
